Holiday Gift Guide for the Home Decor Lover

I don’t know about you, but Christmas really gets me hype about decorating my house. Not just with Christmas decorations, but in general. Maybe it’s all the great home stuff on the market right now, and maybe it’s because home decor items are so fun to get and give as gifts! I’ve rounded up fifteen of my favs out right now for this holiday gift guide for the home decor lover.

    1. Removable Wallpaper: I have this in my entry and love it! It was a little difficult to make sure the dots lined up perfectly, but unless you’re looking at it very closely you won’t notice at all. This is such a simple way to dress up any nook or even make a statement wall. Target has tons of options! The best part about removable wallpaper is that if you get tired of it and want to change it up, there’s no commitment, just peel it off!

              2.  I posted a picture of these cream and gold frames on my instagram a while back and got so many questions about them. My sister-in-law found these for $5 a piece! They come in 5×7 and 8×10, and also come in black and gold! They are a bit cheaply made but you can’t tell at all when they are hanging!

*These are currently out of stock online but check your local Walmart or sign up to get an email when they are restocked!

3. Decorating your home with topiaries is the best way to bring in a pop of green! Kelly green is so in right now, and I like to use fake plants so I don’t have to worry about anything being poisonous to Julep. I usually stack these on top of coffee table books and on the mantle. These short ones are such a good price! Surprisingly, topiaries can get pretty expensive.

4. Who wouldn’t love a champagne candle? These make such great gifts, and are so cute for a party or displayed all the time. I actually received this as a housewarming gift and I keep it out on my built-in bookshelves. Be careful to put something under it when you burn it–the wax spills really fast!

5. Who knew that matches could be considered home decor? These multi colored cuties are adorable just the way they are, or displayed in a mint julep cup or vase. Switch out different colors for holidays–like red or green for Christmas!

6. Coffee table books for the win! If there is one thing about decorating your home that you take away from this post, it should be that coffee table books are a must! It’s so fun to collect and display them in different ways in every room in your house. I switch mine up all the time! Stacking them, standing them up, and putting them on an easel are easy ways to make your home look extra chic. I love this kelly green one by Kate Spade to add a fresh pop of color.

7. Adding artwork to a space allows you to really be creative and showcase the things you really love! My mom and I love ginger jars, so I gravitated towards this one–there are also two similar ones that go with it! One of my favorite places to find artwork and where I have the most luck is on Etsy. Just search for something you’re interested in and you’re sure to find something you fall in love with!

8. Speaking of artwork, Gray Malin prints are on my wishlist! The one shown in the gift guide is actually on Gray Malin’s website, and a similar one is linked when you click the photo! You can’t go wrong with any of his prints!

9. You can never have too many melamine plates. They’re so handy and you don’t have to worry about being super careful with them. I have a lot of blue and white in my house and I fell in love with these chinoiserie ones when I saw them. A set of these would also make a great hostess gift!

10. Letter boards are the best! I have two of these in our house and love changing them up with the seasons! Put a countdown on them or a funny quote or saying. Drew and I love to put quotes from The Office on ours!

Some letter boards we’ve made at home!

11. Candles are so easy to use for decorating! Even if you don’t light them, candles are so pretty these days, you can’t go wrong. My favorite brand of candle is Capri Blue. For all the time I love the Blue Jean scent, and for the holidays I love this Pink Peppermint scent. If you don’t like a bold colored jar, they also make them in silver and gold!

12. If you ever come to my house we can play a game called count how many pineapples are in here. Growing up we always had pineapple themed decor in our house, and I guess it kind of caught on, and now I can’t get enough! I got this pineapple decanter one year for Christmas and I display it on my bar cart and get so many questions about it!

13. & 14. Doormats may be my fav part of outdoor decorating. I just snagged this striped Christmas one this past week on sale for $12! Etsy also has tons of doormats with funny sayings–you can even upload your own! These also make a great housewarming gift.

15. Throw pillows are a girl’s best friend. Does anyone else have a man friend that doesn’t understand the concept of throw pillows? Poor Drew, they just keep adding up! I have a navy and white couch and I love this leopard print to tie in the colors! Pillows are super easy to use to transform a space.
