I told you guys via Instagram that I had a surprise for you, and here it is! Since starting my blog, I’ve focused on fashion in general, mostly Lilly Pulitzer styled in with other brands, and that’s not changing any time soon. However, I’ve decided to focus more on my first love, shoes.
I remember going shopping with my mom when I was younger, and I would always beg for her to let me wear the tallest, flashiest, fringiest, and most fabulous heels. I often got the response, “Honey, nobody can walk in those,” or “You aren’t old enough for those, your dad would kill me if I let you get them.” I think I told her countless times that “When I grow up I’m going to wear heels all the time.” I still remember my first pair of white church sandals as a kid, and boy were they great.
In college, we could be going out on a Tuesday night and I would be the one in heels. Flats aren’t my thing, but I’m working on it! When you’re 5’2 (and that’s pushing it) you have a special appreciation for what heels can do for a girl.
Well, I stuck to my promise to my mom, and here I am! Shoes are what I fall in love with the most about fashion, so why not make them the star of the show? This doesn’t mean I’ll be focusing on outfits and styling any less, it just means I’m going to really kick it up a notch with the heels part of High Heels & Happy Hartz.
So, what does this mean? For me, this means more pedicures for sure (you’re welcome family and friends), and also much more frequent posts! I’m styling outfits from the sole up and I can’t wait to share it with you! Make sure you sign up for emails from Julep & I, so you can see each time we post! I hope you enjoy my first shoe guru post, and soak up some style for the sole!
P.S. These shoes are under $40! They are out of this color, but I’m loving the pink! I’ve also linked some other bow shoes below.
My dress is from the lovely Back Down South, and my coat from Blossoms! Check them out!
There is certainly a great deal to know about this issue. I really like all the points you made.
